The John DeSheplo Cancer Foundation, created in memory of John DeSheplo, a cellist who died of cancer at age 24 in 2003. DeSheplo was a graduate of the old Edgewood High School and a Sicklerville resident.

Michael Carty, director of the event and creator of the foundation, said proceeds will go to the University of Pennsylvania to help fund cancer research. He said the organization also plans to establish a scholarship in DeSheplo's name at Winslow High School.

The Sweetest guy you could ever know! I remember Lion of Judah prayer commuinity, Stubenville Ohio, and John as my date for the semi-formal he gave me the most beautiful corsage you could ever imagine. I have many memories of you that I will always cherish. I had no idea that you had past. I know that you are dancing with angels in heaven as you danced with them on earth. Rest in peace!
